This file of mine was on my pen drive, the pen drive works normally, the pro file was created in 2021, I try to open it but it says “unexpected file format” I really need this file, can anyone help me?
We could try if you share the SketchUp file with us.
Does that mean in the year 2021 or in SketchUp 2021?
Are you using a cr acked version of SketchUp? Where have you been saving the file while working on it?
That file is about two-thirds filled with zeroes. Nothing to recover from it. Do you have the .skb backup copy for this file? Maybe you can share it.
What about the answers to mey questions?
When I created the file I think I used the cracked 2021 version, today I no longer use it.
I saved the file on another machine that I no longer have, I only have the file saved on the pen drive that I transferred to the computer that I use today.
Unfortunately this file is not recoverable at this point. If you need the model you’ll have to start over.
I don’t suppose it was ever used in a LayOut project was it?
I never used it in LayOut unfortunately…
I don’t have the .skb because it is a very old file.
Anyway, thank you very much for the answers Dave.
You asked about the answers to your questions, but I answered them previously, were there any left unanswered?
You’re welcome.
FWIW, if you had a LayOut file based on that SketchUp file youmight have been able to get a viable copy of the model out of it.
I don’t have any more questions.
Going forward save your files to the internal drive on your computer. Since you are using SketchUp 2022 that implies you have a subscription for it. I would suggest updating to the current version as it is better at handling anomallies in the files. Also, since you have a subscription, take advantage of Trimble Connect and save a backup of your SketchUp file there, too. It gives you extra protection in case something goes wrong. Also, each time you save the model to Trimble Connect, the save is incremental so you can always get an earlier version if you need it. And being on Trimble Connect it is available to you on any machine with SketchUp (or if you sign in to SketchUp Go which is also included with your subscription).
