I am unable to open my file and am getting the error “Failed to open Document”. Would someone be able to help me? Possibly @colin ? The link to the file is below.
I have the most recent update, tried previous versions of sketchup, tried the backup file, tried to restore previous versions, tried to copy and rename the file but have had no luck…
Reading through previous discussion posts I likely have too many 3D warehouse elements and did not purge. However it’s only 34mb and I’ve definitely had more 3D warehouse items in other projects and haven’t had this problem before.
Unfortunately the file is mostly just zeroes. About 80% zeroes. Nothing recoverable. Have you got the .skb backup copy of the file? Did you try renaming it to .skp to open it? Were you also saving your file to your Trimble Connect storage?
Where were you saving the file while working on it?
Going forward, take advantage of the unlimited storage on Trimble Connect. It’s part of your subscription so you should use it. Note that each time you save your file to Trimble Connect a new copy is created so you aren’t saving over the existing file each time and you can access an older version if needed.
