Looking for a way to build organic shapes and curves in 3-d rendering that we can then extract 3-d pieces to understand the geometry required to build the form from multiple pieces of wood. This is a way to save material and build a 1-2" inch thick form that can curve in any direction. Pictures show simple forms that we built made by gluing up a series of small pieces cut at compound mitre angles.
I’m not 100% sure what your question is … are you looking to make something like this from a single shape?
This is working backwards to create the shape and then render it. I started with a conical frustrum and then mitered one of the segments to create the fluted form.
