I get many errors exporting to STL. See screen shot. What is wrong?
What version of the STL extension do you have?
Do this happen on every export? Any model? Or a specific one?
Not sure @tt_su, but this is posted in the Sketchup Free section.
But the error message says SU 2017.
True, which is what I meant with ‘Not Sure’.
So some clarification is in order from the OP.
I have done one before with no problems.
I just downloaded the extension about a month ago.
How can I post the file, I try and it’s too large to upload here 8mb or so
Have you tried purging the model and compressing it into a ZIP file?
How do I purge it? And yes, zipped was still to big? I am new to this so please bare with me.
Window > Model Info
Ok, all purged. It’s 200kb too large of a file to post here.
Have you tried using a ZIP or RAR archive? You could also hist the file somewhere else and just link it here.
Yes, I zipped it. It is on my Google drive, I think I just need a email address to share it to.
By the way, what is your STL Export settings?
You have numerous reversed faces that are likely causing the exporter to become confused. See the attached image, where I edited the style to use an obnoxious green for back faces and set the style to monochrome.

How do I fix it for export and then rescaling for 3D printing…I am a newbie.
I’ve logged this as Error exporting this model · Issue #173 · SketchUp/sketchup-stl · GitHub
This is due to a face that reports negative area (!?) and yield no points. Not sure what is going on there…
