Recently I noticed that in order to switch tools, the escape button no longer functions the way it used to. Prior to this issue, you could hit escape to release a selection or back out of a group. In my Studio for Teachers version when I press the escape button nothing happens. Surely this can’t be right. It makes it very inefficient to use SketchUp. I have 85 students who are experiencing the same issue. I have a PC as do most of the students but the same issue occurs on my colleague’s Apple.
The Select Tool shortcut is the space bar. This is does not function the same way as the escape key and is not a reasonable solution.
I also have a Pro version and the escape button functions just fine so I know it is not my escape key. If there is no fix for this I am not sure we will continue to teach SketchUp.
that’s a new one, the escape key hasn’t changed it’s way of functioning afaik… I used it again this afternoon on both mac an PC to deselect something and later to exit a group

Studio version has SketchUp Pro. There’s no different one for Studio.
