Entity Info behaves differently depending on selection method

Hi all,

I’m a bit confused about how the Entity Info works on SketchUp for iPad.

When I select a circle by dragging over it with the Select tool, then tap Entity Info, it doesn’t break the circle into 24 segments. But if I tap once directly on the circle, it does show the segments.

Can anyone explain why this happens? I’ve made a short video to show exactly what I mean.

It’s okay I figured it out now I’ve worked out once you’ve selected everything you can then click on the menu button and then they select faces

For someone else coming along, Entity Info shows information about the selected entity or entities. When you single click on the circle (the edge), Entity Info is showing that you have selected a circle. When you drag a selection window across the circle, you are also selecting its face so Entity Info shows “25 entities”. That’s 24 edge segments from the circle and the face inside the circle.

BTW, get in the habit of dragging out the radii for circles on axis, not in some random direction as you did in your video. On axis will make the circles easier to work with as you proceed.

Thanks Dave that’s some good advice I’ll make sure I do that in the future to get in the habit of dragging the radii for circles on the axis.
