Edge Banding

Hi can anyone tell me how can i create edge banding in a panel so to make DC

Regards Kostas

Not sure I understand the question exactly, posting a dc example or a pic would help me. If you mean the edge of a rectangular panel, you have to make the edge a child component of the panel. If you don’t need the edge band geometry you can just use a hidden line as a component to get the required length for reporting.

Hi ryan

Thank you for your reply I mean the edge of a rectangular panel whuch is a component .I made a child component for the edge banding but in the OCL i can’t take it as edge banding but as a panel

Ahh I see, this is more of an OCL question then. @pcmoor Philip will be a better help than me for sure, I don’t use OCL.

Maybe this will help? I don’t use OCL for cabinets, so I don’t know how best to do edge banding.

In OpenCutList, edge banding are read as material with type Edge Banding applied on drawing faces. It’s can’t be a subgroup or component.

ok thank you very much

Hi I would like to ask you how can i remove the color from the hardware category (i want to be blank because in this category there are many hardware components like – hinges , dowels, drawer slides etc – and i want the category color to be blank and I want each component to keep its own color )

Regards Kostas

Hello Kostas,

Hardware material is applied on Component Instance. So, if you apply individual hardware colors on its geometry faces, the color visible on each piece will be this color.

Hi .Thank you for your reply. I have try your suggestion for individual hardware colors but when I print the list of materials for each different color, I have different categories and not all the materials together Look the img Regards Kostas

PS Is possible to have all the hardwares with different colors in the same hardware category?

Yes … as I said … by applying the “Category” material to hardware instance and the individual color to the hardware drawing faces …
