Dynamic Component issues - issue caused by un-named groups or tags for different doors?

Hello SketchUp Community,

We are attempting to update our Dynamic Component library starting with a basic full-height door cabinet. The idea is to change the Door Style using tags. This model works well when it is on its own, but when it gets duplicated and then resized using the Dynamic Components Options, the doors have a scaling glitch. I have been reading some articles on the community and it seems this is most likely caused by Groups within the dynamic components?

Is the easiest fix to give all the Groups a unique name using Outliner, or would we need to convert all groups to components? We’re very happy to read articles, if there are ones that cover this topic, just a little overwhelmed by the huge volumes of helpful advice in the community. Thank you in advance for any input.

I have attached the Cabinet Model and also the Tagged Dynamic doors on their own. It may be easier for us to fix the doors first in order to understand the concept on a simpler model. The model was created by our Senior Designer on SketchUp 2024. I can get the specs of her computer if that helps, but this does seem like it is a Group or Scaling issue?

Many thanks in advance,
Terry

if you copy a unit the groups remain connected, you can place a meaningless dynamic within effected groups to force uniqueness or use Eneroth’s Deep unique extension before the change

rather than copy you can insert a new component and all should be unique

Thanks so much for the speedy reply and helpful insight @pcmoor ! We will check out Enroth’s Deep Unique extension. I presume if others use the model they will also need the extension?

Great news - our designer managed to change the groups into components without losing all the math and also named each part in the Instance field. That seems to have done the trick. We haven’t tried Enroth’s Deep Unique extension yet. Cheers
