Does anyone know why this might be happening?
This is an exported DXF file from my Sketchup model and inserted to a new Sketchup file.
Also this sometimes happens when I use the Hybrid or Vector option in Layout.
This has randomly happened as far back as I can remember.
2D or 3D export?
Is your model far from the model origin?
What does it look like in AutoCad, or the free Autodesk TrueView application?
Can you post the model?
Guest House - Sections-2.dwg (8.5 MB)
I did a 2d export.
The model origin is at the corner of the house.
I can’t post the file because it is for work.
I just removed TrueView because of all the extra stuff installed with it.
I include a jpg and one of the cleaner dwg exports for reference.
The DXF and DWG seem to give the same results.
I did do a few more experiments where I added a reverse section cut to remove the back part of the house and also I tried an export adding a plane similar to the section plane. These both reduced the artifacts by 75%.
I am going to try some of the paid exporters and see if that helps. I’ll post the results.
Note sure, but your issue may be related to a problem I was having with hidden geometry showing up in my DXFs and DWGs.
Here is a post for what I was going through. The final post in this thread has a solution I found working with styles that got rid of the hidden lines within the exports.
Thanks, I just tried that style and got the same results.
Interestingly I noticed that if I zoom in on an area that has a lot of artifacts (like one of the corbels under the balcony sills) and export, the artifacts disappear. It makes me wonder if this is related to lines showing through faces when zoomed out a given distance?
