.dwg import problem

Hi Folks,

Im using sketchup shop and am currently in the middle of SketchUp for Landscape and Site Design course, in this course im being asked to import a .dwg file, the problem im having is that the drawing is not showing on the program when imported. Can anyone help me with this?

Is it possible you need to hit Zoom Extents?

Hi Dave,

I tried that but no joy, I see components of this dwg in tags but nothing showing in the main program.

How about sharing the .skp file so we can see what you’ve got?

Your imported DWG geometry is a zillion miles from the origin.
Try importing the DWG into a new empty SKP and in Options choose NOT to keep the CAD file’s origin - which is probably the basis of your problem !

Hi TIG, How did you manage find it on the drawing? I tried importing without the files origin but still not viewing it near the axis points
