I have been trying to recreate this fountain without any luck. I am new to sketchup trying to learn. Does anyone have any drawings similar to this object or can you give me some advice on how I can go about drawing a 3D version of this fountain?

Can you post some screenshots of what you have so far? Without knowing what you have, it is hard to know what you might want to try next.
Sandbox’s Smoove tool and the Flip Edge tool is also useful as is Add Detail.
