Design assistance with a complex shape

Hello Everyone, I am looking for some advice on how to properly model the following. At first I thought it was going to be pretty simple, but then I realized it is actually a more of a complex shape. I am working on designing it to cut on a CNC. All the edges are the same thickness and it bulges along the arc line.

I can’t tell from your image what the actual shape is. Have you got any other references to share?

Does this help?

A little.

I did a Google image search for your first one and found this:

And made this from it. I highlighted the “ridge”.

Does that look sort of like what you have in mind?

I drew the parallelogram and the “ridge” line/arc. This shows it from above.

Then I drew in edges between the corners and the ends of the arc.

After that I used Curviloft (from Sketchucation) to create the curved surfaces to fill in the missing faces. You could manually stitch between the corners and the vertices on the arc using the Line tool if you want. Here I’ve started stitching manually.

Apologize for the dumb question, but how did you draw the line/arc on a separate plane from the parallelogram? Did you draw it and then rotate it?

After drawing the parallelogram I extruded it to the thickness of the tile and set a couple of guides as shown at the left, below. I deleted the top face od the volume and used the Line tool to connect the intersection of the guides and the low corners, center. Finally I drew a 2-point arc between the two angled edges, left. I left the vertical sides of the parallelpiped because it’s difficult to see the angled edges. Hopefully that makes it more clear. Remove those, though.

Yes, that makes a lot of sense. Thank you very much for your help!
