I’m using the @DBS “Rotate / Move / Open / Close” extension and it’s a godsend - much faster and easier than the Dynamic Components process.
However, a big “showstopper” is that it stops working once the objects are grouped. So for example, I can show individual kitchen cabinets opening & closing, but once I group the entire kitchen, it prevents the script from activating.
Is there any way to make DBD “pierce the Group envelope” and work from the outside?
Or this is just how the Sketchup engine works and there’s nothing that can be done?
Hi Dan, i discovered your Hinge extension today and I really love it .
I’d like to report a reproducible bug and a workaround, see below.
I’m using Sketchup Pro 2022 on Windows 11 updated.
I created some hinges on objects of my Component, and it works as designed.
The problem arises when i CLONE my Component (Ctrl+Move).
Then the “Open/Close ALL” action doubles the angles : the rotation goes 2 times over the open position !
When i use the “Open.Close” button to act on a single object, it works correctly
When i use the “Open/Close ALL”, then all my hinges opens 2 time wider, in both clones.
Workaround : make my cloned component UNIQUE make the tool work again as designed.
But then my clone is no more acting as a component really since my modifications on master are not made on Unique clones.
I hope you understand my english, and the report is clear enough, if not let me know !
