I created two objects and find that SketchUp automatically grouped them. I select the group, but there’s no Ungroup option. Edit Group doesn’t seem to have any way to ungroup them. How can I ungroup them? I don’t want to explode everything, just separate the two objects I never explicitly grouped.
Explode is how you ‘ungroup’.
Well, there are two pathways to the same result:
A. Go inside first, then explode
- Double click the group to edit it
- Triple click on one thing to select all adjoining and group it
- Triple click on the other to select all adjoining and group it
- Exit the top most group and then select and explode it.
B. Explode first, and then regroup.
- Explode the group
- Triple click on one thing to select all adjoining and group it
- Triple click on the other to select all adjoining and group it
Perhaps it is useful to talk about the root of the problem, SketchUp doesn’t group automatically. Maybe you have mis-pressed G while having everything selected and it turned your geometry into a component ? Anyway, for getting out of it, you already have the proper answers
