Is the beam notched into the post at all? Judging by the flora, snow wouldn’t be an issue though.

Also retitled this thread to be specific to the pergola project (as the entire Gallery category is where everyone can post their own topics.) Byron, you may, if desired retitle again to suit yourself.
Other modelers should begin their own “bragging” thread(s).
(Byron you’ll see in this category, that most users will have a thread where they post their own stuff … sort of a personal gallery. In addition some larger modeling projects deserve their own individual topic thread. Especially if the modeler wishes feedback and critiques specific to that project.)

No notches. The columns are bolted/glued to both a pair of 2x10 carrier beams and a pair of 2x10 rafters. It is a huge dining room table in Simpson post buckets.
