I have a problem with a bunch of corrupted files. 4 different projects were corrupted, as well as their skb backup files. When trying to open them, I get the message that this file does not appear to be a sketchup file. I have tried EVERYTHING I could find online. Changing the skb in skp for the back up file, importing instead of opening, trying Sketchup web, opening them in Sketchup Viewer…That last one brought 2 of the 4 projects back to life, but I`m left with 2 projects impossible to open (of course the 2 most important ones !).
My only hope comes from the fact that both files are still 4.02Mb and not 00.00…so there must be something salvageable ? Can anyone help ?
I tried reading the Hex code of both files, and it seems the beginning of the skb and the end of the skp were was not corrupted, but I could not see the Sketchup header in any of them, and lots of lines are missing between the two. Any time spent on our project is deeply appreciated ! And we learned from our lesson, we are now the happy owner of 5 differents save of each projects that came back to life, in 5 different locations…
