How do I copy an entity from one file to another? In 2017 it was so simple - just command C and command V. Apparently not anymore. Is there a trick?
Sorry - not sure I understand. How would I save one of many objects in one file for import into another file?
Wow! That’s quite an effort compared to simple cut and paste. Not loving this! ;-(
But thanks for your response
Some of what you want to do will work. You can do this:
- Open a model, select something you want, do a Copy.
- Open another model, Paste or Paste in Place.
That works fine. What doesn’t work is:
- Open a model, select something you want, do a Copy.
- Open another browser window or tab, and go to app.sketchup.com
- Open another model, Paste or Paste in Place.
The clipboard seems to belong to the existing browser window or tab, and not the system clipboard.
Thank you! That makes sense and I am able to copy from one model to another.
I am having the same issue. I tried what @colin suggested but it did not work for me. Can you help?
Are you sure that you are staying in the same tab in your browser, when you do the copy and paste?
I figured out a different way to do it. But thanks for the assistance anyways!
