Connecting edges in sketchup

You need to weld the edges (I use Weld from the smustard extensions) and then you can often simplify the edges with Simplify Contours from the SketchUp Team.

Both easy to install through the Window-Extension Warehouse.

When manufacturers of profiles have .dwg or .dxf files, and you import them, the profiles are usually not very useful in SketchUp, due to the high number of loose edges.
