I just did an update on my sketchup pro and when I export a file to DWG it will open in AI. Please help
Are you exporting the file with the .dwg extension? What application do you want it to open in?
What operating system? Mac or Windows? 2024 is not an operating system. What graphics card? Pro is not a graphics card. Please update your forum profile.
Adobe Illustrator?
Right click on the file > Open with…
yes I have been converting Sketchup files to illustrator and now DWG will not open form a sketchup file.
I use Mac.

Please list the steps of what you are doing.

So you are exporting a CAD file as a .dwg file and you want to open that in Adobe Illustrator? What CAD version have you selected in the export options?
I’m sorry for the confusion. I work on a mac. I use sketchup pro and the adobe illustrator 2024 program. I usually export 2D graphics from sketchup to a DWG and then open that DWG file in Adobe Illustrator 2024. I just did an update to my sketchup pro and when I converted a sketchup file to DWG the DWG will not open in AI. It says "operation cannot complete because of an unknown error.
Again, what AutoCAD version are you selecting in the Export Options window when exporting the .dwg file?
From Sketchup- Export—> 2D Graphics—> AutoCAD—> DWG file *.dwg
And what export options?
Share the .skp file. Maybe there’s something about the model that is causing this.
I sat my AutoCAD version to Release 12 and it totally worked. I was able to open the DWG file in AI. Thank you so much for your patience and help. Have a wonderful day.
