I am new in Sketchup and recently downlaod the Sketchup free trial Pro version 2018, I trained on it and spent many hours designing an architectural project with it.
At the end of the trial, I though Sketchup would automaticaly limit itself by becoming the Make version, but it didn’t, I had to downlaod a new version of it, which is apparently Sketchup 2017, and I can’t open my file created with the 2018 pro version, on this 2017 Make version…
Would soemone be able to help me?
Do you know if it exists a 2018 Make version?
You can upload your models to the 3D Warehouse and then download them into SketchUp 2017 Make.
No. There is no SketchUp 2018 Make. SketchUp 2017 Make is the last version of Make and it’s still available for non-commercial use. If you’re going to continue using SketchUp for your work, you need to be using SketchUp Pro and you might as well get the license for SU2018.
Well, first thank you very much for the tip, I managed to open my file in 2017!
But as you have been so helpful i would like to ask you few more questions…:
i noticed that my Sketchup Make is still a trial version (30 days…), and I don’t know what to do to unlock this version, as the Make should be a free version anyway… any idea?
Would I be able to use VRAY with this version?
Saddly, I am brasilian, and this license is way too expensive for my newly created business… I have no choice for now than using the free version. I read about the differences between the 2 versions, I noticed that the biggest problem is the DWG file import… Does it exist other way to import a plan in vectors in Sketchup Make?
After 30 days the Pro trial should expire and it will revert to SketchUp Make if you downloaded SketchUp 2017 Make.
Yes.
No matter whether your business is new or not, if you are using SketchUp in your business, you must use SketchUp Pro. Make is not licensed for your use.
