Color is different on geometry than in Material window

Just a weird oddity - I can’t explain why the color on the component is different than what the color says in the Material browser. Is there a setting I’m missing, or is something broke in this model?

Interesting as I do not get a white in my Colors in Model window.

I’m writing from my phone and can’t have a look at the model, but the color should be the container color and the faces might be painted directly and override the external color…

I see the white thumbnail like Jim does but under the Edit tab it shows the gray color.

Oh that’s odd - it didn’t scale with the rest of the model when using the Tape meadure tool to scale the mode…

I see the same as Dave. The material is really gray but for some reason the preview doesn’t match the actual appearance of the material.

Can you reproduce this in a new model?

I’ve run into the same issue; it works fine in 2015 and 2016, but not 2017.
