I recently purchased Sketchup 2017 as well as a new computer from PC Specialists. I have an 8GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1070 GPU yet when I run Sketchup’s Check Up i get one error that says;
Error: Your “GeForce GTX 1070/PCIe/SSe2” graphic card has 1 MB of graphics card memory. Sketchup requires a graphics card that has 256 MB or more of memory.
Any idea how to fix this or does it even need fixing? My GPU memory is 8.182GB.
This is a known problem in the Microsoft tool used to check graphics memory by Checkup. Ignore it. It’s just wrong, and the wrong report won’t stop SU running.
For other readers wanting to know what the Errors and Warnings mean,…
… please go back to the Checkup help article,
and scroll down past the screen shot of the Checkup dialog window,
and read the section labeled “Results and what they mean”.
