Bonjour,
Create Backup is enabled by default in SketchUp Preferences. SketchUp will automatically create a backup file of the previous saved version of a model anytime you create a new save. Backup files use the .skb file type on Windows . They save in the same location as the .skp file.
You can try to rename this backup file to .skp and try to open that one.
You can use a common cloud service to upload your model (Wetransfer, Dropbox, Google Drive, Onedrive…etc.), then share a link with us…
This means you have not uploaded it properly.
This means you have you disabled the Create Backup in SketchUp Preferences, or you (someone) deleted that file.
Dear Sir
I am currently encountering the same problem for a very important file for me, if you can repair it or recover it you really saved my life, I can no longer open it after a very long time of work Unique Download Link | WeTransfer
Your file contains nothing but zeroes. There’s nothing in it to recover?
What version of SketchUp are you really using? It is not the free web version. Is it a cr acked version?
Where have you been saving the file while working on it?
I am an architecture student, we use our school’s 2023 version and the file is 60 m , it just won’t open, I just sent you the wetransfer link with the file
Correct your forum profile.
It’s 60 Mb of zeroes. As I told you, there’s nothing in it to recover. Do you have the .skb backup file?
yes i have https ://we.tl/t-j4FH9R0sXD
The skb is also full of zeros.
think you for all sir
Sorry there’s nothing we can do with your files.
Make sure when you are working on the next file that you save it to the internal drive on the computer. If you need to make it portable, copy the file from the internal drive to your USB memory stick or whatever you are using. Do not work on a file saved directly to a USB drive.
