i cant seem to get the left curve to close itself so i can finish the curve on the driveway. Any Ideas?
Can you share the SKP file so we can see where it’s falling apart?
Typically when a closed loop of edges won’t form a face, at least one edge is not coplanar with the rest.
Yes definitely.Church Model.skp (415.2 KB)
The driveway geometry has a number of issues but mainly it’s a lack of planarity. If you hide your grass group and switch the Face Style to Monochrome, you can see the issues when you zoom in.
I think the best thing would be to erase it and start over. You should be using components more, too.
Gotcha, thanks. I think the issue is that some of my line were grabbing at the raised height of the walkway.
Very likely that’s the case.
Thank you for your help.
You’re welcome.
I set some vertical guides at the corners of your driveway to use like stakes for marking out corners. After deleting the drive, I made a component of the rest of the loose geometry (not really the ideal thing but I didn’t want to leave anything loose. Then I drew a large face on the ground plane and connected the “stakes” making sure I didn’t use the bottom edge of the building or the sidewalk as a reference.
Once the loop is closed the unneeded parts of the large face can be deleted. Add some real thickness to the shape and make it a component or group before moving on.
I got it to work. Thanks again.
