I’m new to Sketchup and have seen others with this same problem but haven’t been able to resolve it myself.
The component that I drew can not be push/pulled.
What am I doing wrong?

The Sketchup Fundamentals is a great learning resource.
Because components cannot be push/pulled. Only faces can.
To operate upon a face within a component geometry context, you must enter that context by double-clicking it, or select and choose “Edit Component” from the right-click context menu.
