Is anyone finding that panning to a location from the Location Map is mostly not working these days? I can zoom and I can move the pin, but I can’t pan with the “hand” and its kind of a serious PITA for my current project.
I haven’t had any issue witht that. I just tested it now and it’s working fine. How far away from the pin are you trying to pan?
It just doesn’t pan, like, at all. So regardless of how far away I’m trying to pan I can’t really center the area where I want.
It may have been attributed to a recent extension I installed (Placemaker) which also uses a map interface. I uninstalled it and restarted SU, and so far it seems to work…fingers crossed.
Actually…it may be the my personal template…because that still doesn’t work, but when I open another template it does…
That’s interesting. Can you share the template. I wonder if I would see the same thing with your template on my machine.
TPS_SU Template_ft.skp (219.2 KB)
I guess it is your template. One thing that is curious is the way Geo-Location is shown in Model Info.
Another thing I find screwy in your template is that I put in my address in Minnesota and the make shows:
N 1,
Mougoutsi,
Estuaire,
Gabon
If I start a new file with my own template Add Location goes to a point near my house.
Isn’t that curious…it also opens with the full map shown instead of based on my IP location and it isn’t like it’s at “null island” or anything…hmmmm…
Very weird indeed
Yeah, when I type my town and it provides a suggestion directly below it, if I click on the recommended location it sticks me there too. I then have to try again and it’ll then go to the center of the area I type.
I saved the style and created a new template based on Urban Design (ft), and it seems to be working, but I have removed that Placemaker plugin as well. This was driving me absolutely bonkers last night when I was trying to get some work done.
Oh! I wonder if it was Placemaker that was the cause. I don’t know where they came from but your file contained a large number of unused materials.
So maybe it would have panned, it was just busy with materials instead of rendering the map tiles!
No. That doesn’t appear to be the cause. Just a side thing.
