It was working fine last year and this year until last week. About a third of my students get hung up on the loading logo authentication screen. It can’t be a network or deployment issue or it would brick everyone. These affected user all were able to get in a use the app until last week. Of course the issue came right in the middle of our final semester project. Now I have to rethink and replan. I can’t expose kids to design if the app doesn’t work in a consistent manner.
Any help would be great. We are on chromebooks. I have tried the obvious stuff: restarting, switching devices, clearing cookies.
Thanks for the post @erik.mylenek1. If only select users are seeing the issue I can confirm that the most likely issue is that a permission was changed by a user, either intentionally or by mistake. Regardless of what caused it, there are a few settings we can check.
As you already said you tried the usual steps like clearing cookies and cached files, we can proceed directly to the more advanced steps. First up though, we need to make sure that popups and redirects have been allowed for the edu.sketchup.com address and that third party cookies are enabled. If you have already done that then you are all set to proceed. If not, please make adjustments as needed.
Once you are ready, the first of the settings we are after are in Google’s privacy settings, under the “Additional permissions” tab. Make sure that Third-party sign-in has been enabled. Also, within the Privacy and Security section of the Google settings, check that you don’t have anything toggled on that might prevent a complete login. This could include On-device site data and other site settings.
Once you have checked that all of these settings are correct and have made any needed adjustments, try logging in again and let me know if you are still seeing the issue. If it does not resolve the issue, I’ll go ahead and let Tori know and see if she can help us troubleshoot the issue.
It finally triggered for my account (at home oddly enough). I did my best to follow all of your steps and still hang on the blue icon. I took screenshot of the settings. No luck.
