Can i sell my 3d Models in The Unity asset store?

first of all let me introduce my self, i am Sherry Saini am a gamedesigner i have been using sketchup 8 (free version) and the new versions of sketchup make for quite some time now(not for games yet though).

so i have 3 questions?

1.Can i Sell a skectchup model in The unity Asset Store For Free?
i have a doubt because in the Warehouse FAQ says i can 3D Warehouse Terms of Use FAQ | SketchUp Help
Skip to Number 14.

2.Can i Sell a sketchup model in the unity asset Store for Some Money?
same doubt as earlier.

3.If the The person who downloads the model for free or paid from the unity asset store For COMMERCIAL use will it be breaking the terms?

Thank you for reading all this, also Sorry i didnt knew which topic to post this to

Since you would be selling your SketchUp models, you have to upgrade to SketchUp Pro. Otherwise, you are violating the EULA that you agreed to when you installed the free version of SketchUp. Buy the license and you can sell your models.

The terms are very plain on this.

What if i am giving it for free and even uploading it on the warehouse?

plus the warehouse FAQ should mention the fact that the point was for pro license owners only

Read what I wrote: Since you would be selling your SketchUp models, you have to upgrade to SketchUp Pro. Otherwise, you are violating the EULA that you agreed to when you installed the free version of SketchUp. Buy the license and you can sell your models.

If you are giving away your work, you can use SketchUp Make.

Why? The 3D Warehouse is not for Pro license holders only. I never wrote anything that even comes close to implying that. The content in the 3D Warehouse is available to all at no charge so the license agreement you made with Trimble doesn’t come into it.

There is no such thing as selling for free; that’s not selling. You are allowed to publish your models anyhow you like but if you earn money from using SketchUp (e.g. by selling your models) you must use SketchUp Pro as DaveR says. SketchUp Make is for personal use only.

Thank you for your replies, but i might want to clear it one final time,

can it be that i add my model to the asset store and to the warehouse, in such way i am just giving my model away and i am getting no such profit from it…

or maybe if i do it the other way, like giving my model to the warehouse first so the agreement i made with trimble doesnt come, and then i download the model from the warehouse and sell it on the asset store?

As has been pointed out, the key word here is “sell”. In English, that word means “give or hand over (something) in exchange for money”. If you are not receiving money or equivalent value, you are not selling and there isn’t an issue. But if you are selling, it is your SketchUp license that needs to be Pro regardless of the terms of the 3D Warehouse.

thank you for pointing that out, yes i know that but what if the person who downloads it uses it for commercial use?

Basically, that is his/her problem, and depends on the kind of restrictions that the site where you post the model places on their use. For instance, AFAIK, the models posted in the 3D Warehouse are free even for commercial use.

so that is settled, i can give away my models on the unity 3d asset store as the unity asset store allows, the downloaders to use them commercially or non commercially, UNLESS i don’t make any profit from them.

i don’t want to land other people into trouble, just want to help programmers who are in need of Art.

Thank you for your time, it was really kind of you all to help me out.

The terms that you need to operate under are the license, not the FAQ nor help files:

And if it wasn’t clear already it’s the license for SketchUp, not 3D Warehouse, that is relevant to you.

Another related question, since I upgrade to SketchUp Pro, can I sell SkechUp Creations (derivative works of 3D Warehouse Models) or combined work in the Unity Asset Store?

Thank you.
