Can I add photos to my design?

I am a complete design newbie, and I am using the free version of SketchUp.

I would like to use the Landscape template to design a garden.

My question is whether I can I add a photo of my garden and use Sketch Up to modify it?

And if so, how?

File> Import-Select File type (JPEG, PNG)

You can insert as image or texture. Texture requires you apply it to a surface. Images can be placed anywhere.

Hi Tia,
Yes you can Import images into SketchUp. As a texture, image or for photo match.

You have limited image edit tools, similar to photoshop’s transformation tool. As well as control over opacity.
