Hi everyone, does anybody knows why does i have problems with sketchup. As soon i press the render button ( V-Ray chaos ) i just got BUG SPLAT… this is never happened before. thank you for help
Hard to say with no more information than you’ve provided.
Have you been sending iin the Bug Splat reports with your name and e-mail address so they can be linked to you?
What version of Vray? Are you still using SketchUp 2022? Still using Ventura?
Share the .skp file so we can see what you’ve got. Maybe there’s an issue with the model.
i have just sent another bug splat but this time i added my name and email. Also im still using SketchUp 2022 but on windows 11. ii cant send you the .skp file as it is to large.
Please correct your forum profile, then.
Upload it to DropBox or We Transfer and share the link.
is this ok. The problem that i had never this trouble before… ( sometimes happened on Mac…) .
Interesting. I get a Bug Splat too with your model. I suspect there’s something you’ve added to the model that is causing the issue. Vray runs fine with my own models. I just checked after getting the Bug Splat on yours. I’ll dig into your model and see if I can identify what it is.
By the way, I notice a lot of incorrect tag usage.
And you seem to be hoarding a lot of unused components and materials.
This seems to be common with interior designers.
I’ll go back to digging in your model.
thank you. I already to tray to purged too, but doesn’t allowed me… ( bug splat) -immediately. do you have any advice what to do.
I don’t know why you’d get a Bug Splat when purging unused stuff. I didn’t, clearly.
I’m still trying to understand what in your model is causing the bug splat with Vray.
It’s starting to look like at least one material in the model. I deleted all of them and Vray starts up with no problem. So now to figure out which one is the offender.
ok thank you so much. I will wait on your replay.
I assigned a tag (that I turned off) to all furniture and other high detailed objects imported, and then I copied the rest into a new tab.
Basics of SketchUp at learn.sketchup.com - groups, components, tags.
was this a problem ?
So the crazy amount of geometry in the ropes is the problem?
Interesting that deleting the materials worked for me.
I’ll leave it in your capable hands, then.
The model definitely needs to be better built.
The rope was just an example. All that is imported is high poly.
Components look good, but they have to learn what is suitable for SketchUp.
When importing components without checking them, anything could be problematic, and with V-Ray, it’s more likely to be some material, but geometry/objects is/are not excluded either.
do i have to restart the project from the ground up or is there a solution to this as im doing this for school and i need the renders by tomorrow. The bug splat started happening two days ago when i imported smaller furniture like chair and table.
I think the thing to do is go through the model and remove the high poly entourage you added and then purge unused components and materials. If you must have those objects as entourage in your model, look for low poly versions or create your own.
I’ll share the purged version I ended up with but you’ll have to deal with the remaining high poly objects. I’ve set the face style to Monochrome so you can also see the reversed faces that need attention.
This would be useful to appear on the first page of 3D Warehouse, in the search box.
Here’s the purged version of your file. It was a fewtenths of a Meg too large to upload without zipping it.
vrtec na novo 1.51 purged.skp.zip (15.7 MB)
It would indeed be good to add although I’d bet most users would ignore it until they’ve been burned. It would also be nice if there was some warning somewhere to open components in a separate file to check to see if they are suitable as well as a warning not to hoard unused stuff in their models.
thank you both for your help… but here i have another issue ;(
when i wanted to open your link … what now ? ;(
Or maybe the option to import components from 3D Warehouse is turned off by default inside SketchUp.
