Bisecting a hole through a cylinder

How do you go about creating a cylinder 1" in diameter X 4" long and then bisecting a .250 dia hole from one side through the opposite side at 90 degrees ?

I would draw a cylinder representing the drill bit for the hole passing through the 1 in. cylinder. Then use Intersect Faces and delete the unneeded geometry to leave the hole. Make sure the cylinder and the “drill bit” are in the same context. That is, the geometry is all ungrouped or all in the same group.

Due to the small size I would work on a scaled up copy using the “Dave Method”. Do a search for that. Box made a nice GIF showing it.
