I did stop generating elevations in LayOut near decades ago, but that habit returned yesterday! I conjured a bed and breakfast design for a site and was playing with just a rough elevation for context, but ended up just finishing it off in LayOut. 4 hours go to woe including research on what I could put on the site, then another hour this morning adding the vaulted balconies!
That looks really cool
I think its sometimes easy to forget just how good SketchUp and Layout are. I spent a couple of days recently giving myself a crash course in Rhino after reading so many glowing reports about all the things it could do. All I can say is that it just made me even more grateful that SketchUp & Layout are a big part of my working life.
Nice Design, but in my day I would have down that in Powerpoint easier than Layout ![]()
it’s nice but…
why aren’t the 2 views to the same scale / aligned ?
it makes me want to stretch it a liiiiiiiiiittle bit.

Yeah I used to do all my designs in WORD! Even for 45 unit projects!
LayOut is my all-time favourite tool!
As they don’t match! Again it was just a testing of plan and treatment, nothing is at scale! If anything, there is likely more site area available, I’m just showing what could be built, and quickly!
