I suspect that you might have not installed SketchUp correctly.
If you had these files would be within your controlâŚ
Hereâs the only correct way to install/repair SketchUp on WindowsâŚ
Close SketchUp if itâs open.
Find the SketchUp installer exe file.
Itâs usually in your Downloads folder.
If not, then you might need to re-download it ?
Select the exe fileâs icon.
Right-click > Context-menu >
âRun as administratorâ
When prompted, SketchUp is already installed choose âRepairâ,
otherwise choose âInstallâ.
When it completes retry SketchUp.
If the Repair has not fixed it, then try Uninstall/InstallâŚ
An incorrect installation can cause all kinds of unpredictable and weird issuesâŚ
Double-clicking the exe or choosing to âRunâ it, is NOT the same thing - even if you have admin-powersâŚ
As for the files on your Desktop which do not seem to âbelongâ to youâŚ
Use Windows Explorer to access your Desktop folder:
C:\Users\UserName\Desktop
Step up one level to:
C:\Users\UserName
Select the Desktop folderâs icon.
Right-click > Context-menu > Properties > Security [tab]
Select your UserName from the list > Edit
Ensure âFull Controlâ is tickedâŚ
If you donât have admin powers you might need to login as an admin.
After the Desktop folderâs contents are âfixedâ you should be able to delete the unwanted filesâŚ
