Ok, I have just realized that Sketchup auto-purges…not sure how I have not noticed this prior. I must have seen this alert window once and told it to go away.
Anyway, now I would like to see this window again. Have gone to preferences and checked the “ask to purge when save” box. The issue is that its still not asking if I want to purge when saving. So what now?
Ok I’ve got the warning pop up appearing now which is great, but there is no option to “dont show me again”. Is there a way to select “do not purge” and have that as the new default? Or am I doomed to a pop up everytime I save?
They introduced the auto purge in SU2025 as I recall. There was a tick box in the warning window to make it not show but it seemed a lot of users didn’t actually read and comprehend what the message was telling them and ticked the box without first telling SketchUp they didn’t want unused stuff purged. It’s kind of like the Style warning panel that people disable because they see that tick box in the warning but then they fail to actually manage the styles themselves and create issues with their scenes.
My suspicion is they remoed the tick box from the purge window in an attempt to get users to dig a little deeper and understand the implications of their choices.
