Here’s my second Dimension box request for today.
When working in inches, imputing /16 values grinds progress to a halt. I don’t see why this is necessary. The app can just assume /16 when nothing else is entered. i.e.:
Results in 4 7/16" by 6 1/2".
And, piggy-backing off my first post, - on the number pad (edit: or right-arrow) can be a default alt for space, so that
Prints into the dimension box the same way as the first image, so we’re off the letter keys altogether.
You sound like a boat builder.
I work in fractional inches but usually enter decimals although the slash on the number keypad doesn’t really slow my work down that much.
You must be doing this as a hobby since you are using SketchUp Free. At least until (if) these features get implemented, relax and enjoy it as a hobby. 
Indeed, personal use for now. Sketchup is immensely fun - up until the point I must use the letter keyboard for numbers.
I have to hunt for the numbers on the letter keyboard, too, because I’m so used to the number keys.
