Asking for advice on how to model a smooth, curved eagle inspired roof canopy in SketchUp

Hi everyone,

Im designing an eagle inspired hospital for my major project,

I’ve attached my current model and the roof shape I’m aiming for.

I’m trying to model a curved roof/wing canopy that sweeps back from the centre entrance, but I’m struggling to make the surface curve smoothly. When I try lifting points, the whole form moves instead of just the area I want.

What would be the best way to create this in SketchUp — Sandbox/Smoove, Curviloft, Follow Me, or another method?

Any quick workflow tips or tutorial recommendations would be really appreciated.

Thank you!

I wonder if in all of the SketchUp live modeling sessions that @TheOnlyAaron may have covered this problem. I’m sure that others will have good suggestions too.

Isn’t it already designed?

Lots of tutorials online. I rarely model shapes like this but the rounded and organic shapes thst I have done I have used:

Curviloft
SubD
Quadface Tools
JointPushPull

And some Googling might help you get started:
