Ambient Occlusion… I suppose it’s great, however I don’t want this feature on my floor plans. Yes, I have turned it off in SU2025 and reset the styles accordingly and restarted SU & LO, but it still shows up.
Where is it showing up? In LayOut?
If you messed with any of the settings for the SketchUp (tag overrides, camera position, etc) model in LO you likely need to reset the viewport. This assumes you have the proper SKP file linked and have update the scenes in SKP and saved the model.
Yes, this is showing up in LO. It have saved the scene in SU, saved the SU file. gone to LO and reloaded the SU file / view ports. Turned all AO setting off and I’m still getting the fuzzy shading.
Did you export it and see the AO or just in the LO representation of the page?
Do you need to reset the viewport?
What are your settings in document setup?
Can you share the LO file?
OK… Thanks very much Bmike. Here’s the thing. In Document setup, the initial setting for Display Res were both Low. The issue goes away if you select Medium for the viewport setting. Images can stage at Low. I had these setting at Low for both expecting better nav performance. The Medium / Low work to get the fuzz gone and so I will try High / High to see if performance is degraded.
Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.

Ok. But display quality doesn’t mean anything… just what you see when working. If you export you won’t see the fuzzy edges assuming your export settings are at high and AO is truly off in your viewports, or you render in vector or hybrid.
So leave it at low for speed or change it as needed - but the things are completely unrelated.
So, All looks great in SU; I have various styles for obvious reasons. But now in LO these styles are not coming into the view port. For example (in SU), I have a floor plan with colours & textures showing. But when this is displayed in LO, the view is different in the following ways;
Vector - Shows the colour without textures (this is expected)
Raster - The scene from SU completely vanishes leaving only edits from inside LO showing
Hybrid - Displays everything in monochrome (regardless of the style chosen in SU)
Needless to say, I need to display the scenes in hydrid (but with colour and texture).
I am obviously missing something here. This is happening only in the 2025 flavour of SU. The previous versions are fine.
Can you share the LO file?
Are you using the new graphics engine in LO?
Are you in Draft Mode?
What happens when you export vs. what you see in the LO preview?
Hi bmike,
Ok, so I relinked the SU file. Closed LO. Restarted the computer. Re-opened the LO file and set all viewport to Auto / Hybrid and all is well. Clearly, at some stage these setting were not taking effect until the close and restart.
Was happy to share the file but it’s 11+mb. Not required now.
Thanks again for sticking with me on this.
