Allegorithmic is joining the Adobe family

It has been announced that Adobe has acquired Allegorithmic.

What are your thoughts on this? Personally, I hope to see them still around in a few years time, but the favorable pricing structures of Allegorithmic will most probably be sacrificed by Adobe. Also, hello forced subscription model. If that is the case I won’t be renewing my perpetual licence to newer versions.

Yes I had a mail about this earlier. I was initially disappointed but encouraged by alegorithmics founders post on Medium about the acquisition. He is now VP of Adobe 3D and Immersive.
But yes, I can’t see the nice flexible subscription options sticking around too long.
