I would like to ask what actions or steps we can do if we saw or learned that someone is using, spreading or selling cracked or pirated versions of Sketchup most likely the pro versions?
I think piracy activity couldn’t easily be stopped. However, maybe on developer side can make some prevention of accesing pirated version of SketchUp Pro. Since SketchUp is able to communicate with the developer while they are online, then developer can make pirated version is broke or become EXPIRED if pirated serial number detected. Most SketchUp user must be connected to internet to access features like 3dwarehouse and extension warehouse, this can be a chance for developer take pirate users down.
This is just my opinion.
I would suggest bringing the post to the attention of @TheOnlyAaron. If the SketchUp team is able to do anything about such illegal sources, he should know about it.
They are very interested, and even though this thread is from 2015, it is a relevant topic in today’s time.
