Ability to 'select' when you have imported from sketchup to layout

I am exporting some floor plans form SketchUp to layout. When i do so, occasionally i will not be able to select the image once it appears in layout, but other times i can. I think its something wrong at the sketchup end, because for some floor plans it works but for others it doesn’t. For example i experimented with changing the one that couldn’t be selected once in layout (i altered the floor plan slightly) and suddenly i could clicked it. Im not sure if its a problem with the actual model in sketch up or what. Any advice greatly appreciated.

You need to attach a layout file for people to see what you have going on. No point guessing.

You mean that actual layout file? Or a screenshot. Apologies, not used this forum before. Also how do i attach something?

The actual .layout
If less than 16mb drag and drop into a reply or use the upload icon roughly in the middle at the top of the reply box.
Over 16mb upload to dropbox, drive, wetransfer or similar and paste a link to the file, making sure it is available to anyone.

I assume the image must be on a locked layer. Either unlock the layer in the layers panel or move it to another editable layer

Ive tried all combinations of layer configuration, locking unlocking etc. Trying to upload the file now.

Fair enough I won’t bother reading/replying further.

Hopefully this works… You will see that i can select the floor plan but not the elevation drawing. Both on same layer

Its not working…

Are those wireframe views? Are you trying to window select or pick select?
If wireframe you’ll likely need to click on a specific line, otherwise LayOut doesn’t recognize that you are wanting to select something.

Im trying to window select. Im not trying to select specific lines on the drawing. Just the drawing itself.

As soon as i copy it from the import page to the page i want the image to be on, it stops being selectable

Umm .

Yes, thanks for this, i know i can do it like that but i want to be able to select each individually and move them individually.

Box, im not sure what ‘umm’ is supposed to mean here. It is unclear and unhelpful.

He means that by not sharing your file you are leaving him with nothing but guesses…

You ignored this.
Which is way more unhelpful for all of us.

Layout Drawings.layout (2.4 MB)

And straight away we can see that you are using Last saved sketchup view rather than a scene.
It is too late for me to delve further, others will give you good advice.

If anyone can provide some help on this it would be much appreciated
