7 Day Trial? That's it? And the store/purchase page is a little broken

Back when I first tried Sketchup (or tried to try Sketchup) there were some issues getting off the ground. And I had to solve them myself (you can find that in my post history). You were literally preventing me from being able to give you my money  . Creating unnecessary barriers for potential customers seems to be something the company hasn’t solved yet. Here’s a few issues I’m noticing:

  1. While browsing around for the trial, I noticed a glitch on the ‘purchase’ page: If you hit back it doubles your order.

  2. Only a 7-day trial? Even during a 30-day trial I only get a bit of time in a program. Many of us have to pay the bills using other software and spend whatever energy we have left testing out trials for other software. I don’t mind paying for a trial via a 1-month license, but you guys don’t do Month-by-Month.

  3. Currently, I’m being BOMBARDED by adds on YouTube and elsewhere. Excessive ads do not make Sketchup look good (and the ads don’t offer any real substance). These ads are incredibly unnecessary given you have so many users that do a far better job promoting your software. Pay them and ditch the terrible ads.

they do. you can get a monthly licence. if you don’t renew it you get one month.

yeah, some people realised that simply by creating 12 emails they could have a free sketchup pro.
before the month trial, it used to be a handful of hours. now there is a monthly sub, i’m ok with it. I train people on SU, the 8 days gives us time for a week of lessons, and after that, if they’re not sold on SU, they can take a single month to keep learning.

adblock exist for a reason. you’re targeted by these ads because this is a topic you care about. various websites gives you the choice to ignore suggestions. On youtube, when I’m not using Ublock, I get generic ads.

Thank-you!!

I couldn’t find the link for the monthly license maybe because the license literally just a monthly license? Not paid yearly upfront? - Either way I’ll figure it out, been a long day. Thank you!!

You’d be surprised at how many cracks exist, no trial required. I literally get ads for those too! :open_mouth:

It does!! And also I need to watch less Youtube. The Sketchup team would do well to just ditch that nonsense and encourage the community to do their marketing for them. The ads just aren’t good. But I’ll leave it at that.

Thanks so much for your help!!

yeah, you pay every month.
it’s (off course) more expensive than a yearly sub, 7 month for a year. but occasionally, on a pinch, or when you get an intern for a couple of month, it’s really useful.
