I am NOT using 5D+ shadow settings… yet I find that every now and then that 5D+ has changed the global sun to a northern hemisphere preset
How can I prevent 5D+ interfering with the solar settings?
I am using my sketchup model for both construction documentation as well as ongoing client communication, so it is important to keep the Australian solar settings at all times for the presentations.
P.S.:
its quickly fixed by deleting/reinstating the location, but it would be preferable if I didnt have to do it again and again
What button you pressed that makes the north settings change?
Huhm, that must be a bug because 5D+ never want to touch global north of the model except user activate 5D+ Shadows, but it only affect that scene only.
FYI, some more info (in case that gives you some more clues):
I don`t know which button or action might have caused it. I use the shadows only sporadically, therefore noticing this shadow quirk is usually time delayed .
I noticed the bug not just in the latest 5D+verison. It happened the last handful off versions, too.
only happed sporadically… say twice a month or so.
Have a look at the attached excercise, creating a 1:20 balcony detail section, using your very handy “scene bounds” tool.
It appears that all SIX sides of the pink bounding box have to be postioned close to the balcony in order for the “fit view bounds” to be successful ( = second attempt in the video)
It would be simper and more direct if in an ortogonal view only the FOUR sides needed to be moved, i.e. if the extra step of depth-cropping could be omitted.
Thanks for your consideration. Greetings from Australia
Question:
Can the 5D+ Select Tool be used to delete a single dimesion?
So far I was only able to delete a dimension with the SU native select tool (normal procedure: doubleclick into the dimension group, select dimension and press “del” key)
You may need to convert that scene to 5D+ Scene first. You can place labels, grids… then it can be automatically converted to 5D+ Scene, or you can use 5D+ Scenes Manager, right click to the scene then choose Convert to 5D+ Scene from the context menu.
level grid properties:
I struggle to keep the graphics that I intend. I find that upon updating the level grid, 5D+ re-draws it differently than I initially created it.
I am ticking this box diligently for every singe scene … Am I using it incorrectly?
