3ds export for Sketchup Pro

When operating Sketchup Pro using the desktop application, do I need to be connected to the internet to export a model in the 3ds format?

I ask this question because when using the Sketchup Go web app, the exporting process for 3ds files can take anywhere from 30 seconds to several minutes, and the exported file is deposited into the cloud where it then has to be retrieved manually by the user.

When working on location I don’t always have access to reliable internet. If Pro does not require internet/cloud access to complete this task I would consider upgrading my subscription.

If an internet connection is required to export 3ds files regardless of subscription, I will have to find another solution.

No. You don’t need a web connection to export from SketchUp Pro. The only need for a web connection should be when it needs to ping the server once every 28 days for the subscription.

Thank you for your help!
