3dconnexion can not be activated in sup2025?

Somhow sup2026 sup2025 does not want me to activate teh 3dconnexion spacemouse.

Anyone knows why, and how to activate the space mouse?

sup26 3dmouse can not activate

I opened the extension manager, activated the spacemouse, but it did not work.
So i went back to the extensionmanager and found the mouse was not activated, so i activated it again, and again, and again, and … no luck?

PS just fresh installed (yet again) the latest drivers V10.9.8 (like i also did 14-01-2025, 26-02-2025, 08-05-2025, 14-10-2025 And just now today)

PS my appologies, i thought i was working in sup2026, but i was working with sup2025, not sup22 for a change, oh how i miss make 17 ^^

have you tried activating, then restarting sketchup ?

not all plugins activate instantly, some require a reboot.

S(h)ame result, after activating it blue, closing the program, restarting program, it somehow still greyed out inactive.

PS great, and now somehow it also does not work in sup22  sigh

Have you tried downloading and installing the latest driver from 3DConnexion?

As you can see, only 5 re-installed latest drivers this year due to … new sketchup versions!?

PS and yes, i also tried repair and deleting and reinstalling the drivers

Did you also use the Extension Migration option?
If so you may have conflicting files.
Check that you only have one set of 3dware files for 2026.
Either in
C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\SketchUp\SketchUp 2026\SketchUp\Plugins
or
C:\ProgramData\SketchUp\SketchUp 2026\SketchUp\Plugins

Not both.

Yes, i tried it once, it was the (knak)worst nightmare.
After i had to uninstall sletchup and start all over again and manually installed some extensions i needed at that point.

Won’t ever use that migrate option again

[edit]
And about “only for sup2026”, i also still have/need Make17, SUP22, SUP25 and hopefully soon only SUP2026 (wishfull thinking ) for which i would like to keep using the spacemouse, which now does not work in any of the sketchups i have installed.

Are you running the wireless version?

If so try hardwiring it (cable charging) and rebooting. On my Mac I think that resulted in a firmware update which may not be possible in wireless mode.

Yes, it’s the wireless version.
Just connected it by wire, but no warning or update message, and still no functionality.

I gave up for today, need to finish my job.

In a different direction, could the hardware have failed? Does the mouse work with the various trainer and viewer mini-apps 3DC installs in its home app?

Haven’t installed those, thought i did not need training on how to use a mouse.

Let me rephrase that: is the mouse working with anything?

Yes, it does work in other programs like word, excel, chrome, 24pdf, etc.
And where it still worked in sup22 this morning, after reinstalling the drivers once again, it does not work in any of my sketchups.

Will take the mouse back home to see if it works with make17…

You may have already said this:

Does the windows installer have an uninstaller option? Did you try that, then reboot then reinstall?

Also - on Mac after installing the driver I need to access the control panel and tell it to install the plugins. Then it asks me to reboot. Otherwise it does not work in SKP.

Yup. tried to uninstall and reinstall and also tried to use the repair option.
So far no luck :sob:

[edit] also rebooted the system and everything…

At this point I feel like you should send your PC setup to SKP just so they can do forensics on it.

I’ve never seen so many issues… and I teach people who have asked on the third day of class ‘wait, what is ‘right click’ again…’.

Would not be the first time someone would come check my system and find out the system is fine and there are issues with the software ^^

You’d think there would be hundreds or thousands of others like you then… but something is breaking along the way though.

Hope you get it sorted.

At least my middle mouse button still works

Thanks, hope so two!

Try reinstalling the latest drivers with your SM hardwired. I doubt it would do a firmware check/update without a reinstall.
