When i am searching for some materials in sketchup 2024 warehouse i can find them, but in 2025 there is nothing.
It would be helpful if you add some examples of materials that donāt show in 2025ā¦
Adding to that: SketchUpās own models also appear to be missing. While there are new parametric models now, as an example there used to be a thorough collection of steel cross-sections that could be searched by designation (e.g. HSS):
Am I looking in the wrong spot? Those should be kept in the warehouse!
these are still in the standard sketchup profile. were the one you mention live components or standard ones ?
all of them.
before, if you searched for something like ātableā you would get photos of tables, tabletop materials, various materials⦠in the material tab.
Basically EVERY material that was part of a 3d warehouse model was here, it was a bit of a mess
now itās empty. Iām guessing itās now searching for PBR materials, and there are only a handful, the default ones, the official ones, and a few that have been uploaded
I see now what happened. They somehow incorrectly renamed HSS sections to TS sections. And the items now donāt have a standard designation. The one in the image should be āHSS 5x3x1/2ā.
Didnāt see that comingā¦
nor did I.
but I welcome the change. it used to be āevery and any image in all the models are now hereā. is it seamless ? is it good ? is it pertinent ?
at least if now people have to upload their materials, me might have fewer but better stuff.
We did keep the old Materials. If you are in the Materials Tab click on Filter and you will see an option to include Extracted Materials. Let me know if that helps.
ok, that one is sneaky Guz. I donāt think Iāve ever been to the bottom of the filter window unless by accident.
might be more accessible here or there ? as a search filter, materials / products / extracted
or as a third button up top ? (probably not)
(I like the choice between flat and cube⦠canāt wait to have the same choice in the material panel )
Sure! We are open to reconsidering the location for Extracted Materials. We are working to surface higher quality materials with descriptions, categories, and other metadata so that materials no longer seem like an afterthought. Thatās the reason we are featuring these new materials and deemphasizing the extracted materials.
I see, keeping them around like the 3rd page of a google search (3rd and more), in case someone didnāt find their PBR.
Iāll say, because they were extracted (and of various quality), I never used them. I relied until now on the texture club or architexture.
seeing a bunch of materials there is good, and the fact that users can add their materials too. especially since it has to be an active choice, not an automated conversion
also⦠products? so official materials like in architexture ? nice !
