2025 - Hide rest of model is not hiding Environment

Per the title, when I am in a scene that shows the environment and I want to edit a group or component I tend to work in Hide rest of model mode. I was expecting the Environment to be hidden as well, is that an option I am overlooking?

There doesn’t appear to be a way to to turn off the environment while editing a group/component. Environments act like sky or ground, which also don’t turn off when editing a group/component.

The only way to turn off the environment (while keeping the lighting/reflections) is to untick “Use Environment as Skydome”

I guess what you’re asking could be a feature request - to add another section in the “Component/Group Editing” Model Info area. Fade/Hide Environment or something.

Thank you, I thought that would be the case, but was hoping I was wrong.

In Environments, in model, you can set the environment to ‘no environment’, and set it back to the one you want afterwards.

I will pass on the request to have the environment be suppressed when hide rest of model is being used, and you’re inside a group or component.

Thank you @colin , such a change would be very welcome!

I did log a feature request in our system. The internal number is SKOR-20245.
