2 weeks of work gone because of "This does not appear to be a Sketchup model" Please help

I’ve been working on this project constantly for 2 weeks straight and all of a sudden the save file won’t open anywhere.

Could someone please help me fix it??

Thank you

Unfortunately, the file doesn’t look like it was a Sketchup file. The header and the last third are missing. I don’t think it can be recovered. :frowning:

Where were you saving the file while working on it. Did you have a power failure while working on it? Is it a cr acked version of SketchUp that you are using? Do you have the .skb backup file?

I have the SKB backup file but it also doesn’t open after renaming it to SKP
My post got flagged, where can I upload the SKB file?

I don’t know why your post got flagged.

Upload the .skb file to DropBox and share the link.

Please answer my questions, too.

It’s not cracked my post got flagged for “spam”, I was saving it onto my External harddisk, I might have had power failure while working on it I just can’t remember if I was working on this one or some other project. I do have the SKB file, here I uploaded it to Dropbox like you suggested:

This is a common reason for file corruption. You should save your files to an internal drive. Copy it after a successful save if you must have it on the external drive.

The .skb file is also missing the header and is about two-thirds filled with zeroes.

Nothing to be done to save it.

This time save internally and also save backups periodically to your Trimble Connect storage.
