In trying to use the 2-point arc tool lately, I get an error message that I don’t understand or know how to correct. The message says, “Number of segments too large for given angle and radius.”
I don’t recall setting any number of segments as one sometimes does for circles and polygons. What is causing the error? How do I correct for it?
The radius of the arc is 3/32" and is tangent at the vertex.
It’s because you’re drawing it so small the segments get too tiny for the software to handle. With the arc tool selected, type 3s for three sides, hit enter, and then try drawing again.
SketchUp is good down to about .001". If your arc/segment combo requires edges that push into that range it will balk to prevent making bad geometry. Less sides or a bigger arc are needed or scale up the whole model.
