I’m wanting to get in touch with other Wisconsin (or Midwestern) architects/firms using SketchUp and Layout to produce their Construction Documents. I don’t imagine there are THAT many of us, but I’d like to identify our community and possibilities for discussion/collaboration/etc.
Hi Joseph, I’m an architect in SLC, Utah, so not really Midwestern, but I have had a full SketchUp to LayOut workflow for probably 12 years now. I do mostly commercial work - medical clinics and office buildings. I’m also a founding member of Sloped.io. We test and certify SketchUp and LayOut pros and connect them with businesses that need them. Check us out.
Thanks for that info!
I’ve been using SkUp for 20-ish years and have been using Layout for CDs on small architecture projects where my Revit-using co-workers would let me get away with it.
I’ve recently started my own architecture firm, and plan to use SkUp/Layout exclusively!
Would very-much like to compare notes with other like-minded firms/individuals…
Will be sure to check out Sloped.io…
Great to hear and nice to meet you Joseph. Good luck! I use sloped.io for drafting help instead of having employees. It’s been great! I’ve used architects in Columbia, Brazil and Ireland. It’s been a great experience. If you sign up on the sloped.io website for a free 30 minute consultation, you’ll probably end up speaking with me.
Hi there,
That sounds like a great initiative—connecting with others using SketchUp and Layout for Construction Documents is definitely valuable. While I’m not based in Wisconsin or the Midwest (I’m in Egypt), I specialize in remote collaboration and have over 10 years of experience using SketchUp professionally.
Would you be open to working with someone remotely? I’d love to connect and explore any potential for collaboration or shared discussion.
Thanks for the response!
No collaboration needs (yet…) but I’m definitely interested in exploring options.
Right now, I’m just wanting to get a better sense for whether I’m the only SkUp addict doing all their documentation in Layout. Plus, I’d be interested in discussions on what folks are doing to improve that process…
