Why Is Entering a Simple Measurement in SketchUp This Difficult?

Did you really have to hide such a simple setting just to enter a fixed measurement? I’m just throwing out numbers here, but should drawing a 10×15 cm or 23×37 cm rectangle really be this difficult and effort consuming? Forget entering the dimension being forced to deal with decimals like 10.2123 cm × 15.2291 cm due to hand precision while drawing, and having these values tucked away in invisible places… Searching through 9 minute videos just to find a 10 second setting, being pushed to look for solutions elsewhere how is any of this reasonable, dear SketchUp engineers?

Entering dimensions is not hidden. By default the Measurements window is at the lower right corner of the screen. You can activate the Measurements toolbar in View>Toolbars and place it whereever you want on the screen. To draw a 10 x 15 cm rectangle, activate the Rectangle tool, click to set the first corner, move the cursor toward the opposite corner, let go of the mouse and type the dimensions. Press Enter. Pay attention to the separator displayed in the window when you drag the rectangle out. Use the same separator. The separator will be either a comma or a semi colon depending on what symbol is used for the decimal. In the video I typed 10,15 and pressed Enter. Since I set the model units to centimeters there’s no need to enter the units.
